From playing elite hockey on three continents to spending 25 years scaling Power Play Sports, my family's hockey retail business, by 400% and holding a national sports franchise license - I'm now building the digital marketplace infrastructure to keep sports accessible and affordable.
Twenty-five years spanning elite competition, retail operations, and franchise ownership - the operating foundation behind the marketplace.

Before the office duties, there was the rink. I played elite-level hockey in Canada and Europe from age 15 to 18, competing at a level that shaped my discipline, resilience, and understanding of the sport from the inside out.
That foundation built a credibility in the hockey and broader sports world that can't be manufactured - it's earned on the ice, over years, in front of the people who matter most to the sport's community.
Sport built my resilience, protected my mental health, and gave me the best years of my life. Now I'm building the infrastructure to make sure it can give that to the next athlete too.
I didn't come to this idea from a spreadsheet - I came to it from a locker room. Hockey gave me everything: the friendships, the discipline, the identity, and a mental health outlet that carried me through the hardest years of growing up. That's not a talking point. It's the reason I've spent my entire career inside this industry, from the ice to the retail floor to the brand war room.
And it's exactly why the problem in front of us matters so much. Equipment costs have hyper-inflated. Club and league fees keep climbing. Families who want nothing more than to give their kids what sport gave me are being priced out - quietly, year after year, one rising cost at a time. The families most in need of what sport offers are increasingly the ones who can least afford it.
I'm not approaching that problem as an outsider. I'm approaching it with a lifetime of retail supply chain expertise, direct relationships across the world's largest sporting goods brands, and a business background forged in scaling a business 4x. Athlete Xchange exists to take every advantage I've built over a career in this industry and turn it into lower barriers to entry for the next generation of athletes.
